Daniel was born in Ponta Delgada Portugal where he met and married the love of his life Maria Guilhermina. (April 30, 1940 – August 10, 2015) He moved to Canada shortly after and worked on the Canadian Railroad saving every penny to buy a home and bring his wife and first son Tiberio to Canada. He settled in the area of Collingwood in East Vancouver and was joined by Guilhermina and Tib in 1967. He was blessed with his second son Martin in 1975. He worked loyally as a landscaper for Crosby for 30 years and then, following Tibs advice, started what continues to be a successful landscaping business run by Martin. He was very proud that both his sons carried on in the family business of landscaping. He was a quiet and calm man, the words most used to describe him are kind, compassionate and happy go lucky, most people never saw him frustrated, let alone angry.
He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his loving sons Tiberio (Elita) and Martin (Emily) and his grandchildren Alexander and Jessica, his sisters, sisters in law and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He passed peacefully with dignity surrounded by his close family and embraced with love at St Paul’s Hospital.

Prayers will be said 10:00a.m. Friday January 13, 2017 at Our Lady of Fatima Parish 1423 East 13th Ave, Vancouver, B.C. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30a.m. Rev. Richard Zanotti, CS celebrant. Interment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial St. Burnaby. A special thank you to all the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital that cared for him during his stay, your compassion will always be remembered and appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully acknowledged to St Paul’s Hospital.
