Maria Madalena was born in Sao Sebastiao, Terceira, Acores. She was married to the love of her life Francisco Isidoro Flores in 1951. They lived in Sao Sebastiao until Franciso went to work in Angola. She embarked alone with her 6 children to meet her husband in Angola in the late 1960’s where she became widowed at the age of 40 and was left to raise her children. She returned to her hometown in Terceira and then immigrated with 4 of her children to Vancouver in 1980. She worked very hard to provide for her family which she dedicated her life too. She loved gathering the family for dinners and was always being the life of the party with her great sense of humor. She was well known for her immaculate gardens which were her passion. Her gardens were always full as life as she was.
She will be missed by her six children and their spouses, Francisco (Carminha) Flores, Isidro (Nelia) Flores, Celestina (Tome) Valadao, Adelino (Grace) Flores, Maria Flores, Lino (Cecilia) Flores. Also loved by her 14 Grandchildren and 19 Great grandchildren and all her nephews and nieces.
Mom, Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. RIP
