logoHAMILTON Richard ÃDickÄ Catton On the morning of December 14, 2007 beloved and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away at home after a lengthy illness with his family at his side. Being at home enabled Dick to spend a lot of time with his family who were always close by. He was born in Avonbridge, Scotland on November 16, 1937. He came to Canada in 1960. His first job was at Timberland Plywood going on to work for Weiser Lock where he first met the love of his life Irene. He was an avid soccer player and enjoyed many years playing with the New Westminster Legion. Dick was an active member of the Lewis Lodge #57 in New Westminster, since demitted in good standing. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Irene and his children Donna (Stan), Rich (Jenifer). Loving grandchildren Alan, Janice, Clayton, Derek, Fiona, Riley, sister Isabelle (Jack), brothers Jim (Norma), Craig (Fran) and Thomas. Fondly remembered and loved by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents William and Jean and brothers Wallace and Ian. We are heartbroken at the loss of such an amazing person who contributed so much to his family. A celebration of his life will be held on December 22 at 2pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 335 – 7th Street, New Westminster. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Terry Fox Foundation in Richard’s name would be appreciated. 2669 Shaughnessy St. Port Coquitlam, B.C. V3C 3G7.
