Consumer Price Index adjustments – Funeral and other death expenses

Section 25.2 of the Workers Compensation Act (“Act”) requires some dollar figures in the Act to be adjusted by the Board annually according to changes in the Consumer Price Index.

Apart from the figures in the Act, the policies of the Board contain various dollar allowances or amounts. With regard to funeral and other death expenses, the Board of Directors have resolved to make Consumer Price Index adjustments to the amounts on January 1 of each year (Item C8-54.00 of the Rehabilitation Services and Claims Manual, Volume II).

As a result, the rates set out below are effective January 1, 2004.
