With deep sadness we announce the passing of our sweet and kind-hearted Ana Olimpia Setas Monteiro on April 27th, 2018 in Burnaby, B.C. Canada. She was born in Carvalhais, Mirandela, Portugal and was the devoted wife to Trajano (predeceased in 2010), a loving mother to Olimpia (and Dale) and a loyal sister to Pompeu and Jose. She leaves behind many relatives and friends (in Canada, Portugal, and Brazil) who are heart-broken over her sudden and untimely passing. Olimpia was a very thoughtful, diplomatic, giving, and considerate woman who made everyone feel special and went out of her way to make others know she was thinking of them. She was a positive and upbeat person who always made the best out of every situation and lived life to the fullest. She embraced Canada while still maintaining her Portuguese roots. Olimpia was a devout Catholic who regularly attended Mass and enjoyed supporting and participating in community events. Olimpia was a professional and talented seamstress for many years; she also enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, cooking, baking, and gardening. Olimpia loved to travel and was fortunate to visit Portugal every year. She loved to entertain and her door was always open to family and friends. She is remembered for her thoughtfulness, grace, and class. She will forever be missed by all who knew her. Prayers will be said 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 04, 2018 at Our Lady of Fatima Portuguese Church, 1423 East 13th Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. Where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 05, 2018. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, South Mausoleum, Burnaby, B.C.
