Anne Edna Chauvel

Birth: 1928-06-14 Died: 2026-04-29

Anne lived a long, full life, anchored by her love of family and friends and the people around them.

She was the eldest of seven, raised on a farm in Alberta and later in Vernon. She grew up quickly, helping her mother raise her siblings. It set the tone. Anne did not wait for things to happen. She got on with it.

She eventually settled in Vancouver, where she married and raised two sons. She brought her love of farming with her and passed it on to her boys, in ways that were entirely her own. Like the time she transported a calf in the back seat of the family car, perfectly reasonable to her yet unthinkable to anyone else.

She was adventurous, curious, and always up for something different. She travelled widely and appeared in the Rocky IV and We’re No Angels movies. It suited her. She had a way of ending up in places she was not expected and fitting in just fine.

Anne had a sharp mind and a remarkable memory. She remembered everything, and more importantly, she listened. It made her a formidable Jeopardy! player right to the end.

She said what she thought. No filter. And people loved her for it. There was a twinkle in her eye and an ever present smile, earned from a life that gave her more than her share of character.

Even as her mobility declined, she remained independent, running errands around Port Coquitlam in her power chair.

Anne lived to a remarkable age and stayed bright and engaged to the very end. Still, we weren’t ready. We miss her.

There will be a celebration of Anne’s life on May 24, 2026 at the Organic Ocean facility, fitting for someone who lived fully and did things her own way.

She was truly one of a kind.
