It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Dad & Grandfather on July 6, 2022. Antonio is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Maria Amelia and his 3 children, Maria dos Anjos (Americo), Anthony, Diana (Paul), 5 grandchildren, Carlos (Nalini), David, Dennis (Carol), Marcus, Miguel and 5 great-grandchildren, Cristiano, Sophia & Eva, Serena & Sebastian. Dad came to Canada in 1956 and started working as a mechanic in Quesnel and Vancouver. He then spent most of his career working for Stevens Pools, later leaving the company to help his son begin his own company. He was a hard worker who came to this country for a better life and was very proud of his family and home. He had a love for learning, classical music, his garden, good wine and Mom’s cooking. Dad will be remembered for his smile and making time to help anyone who called. Always a gentleman, he genuinely was thankful for anyone who stopped by to visit – even on his last days. He will always be with us in our hearts. We thank all our family and friends, as well as Cottage Hospice, who have extended their support during this difficult time. Prayers and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:30pm Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Our Lady of Fatima Portuguese Parish, 1423 E. 13th Ave., Vancouver. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial St. Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, consider making a donation in memory of Dad for either BC Cancer Foundation or Covenant House.
