November 16, 1927 – July 12, 2021
CARREIRO, Belmira Conceição, born in São Vicente Ferreira,
Ponta Delgada, Azores, passed away peacefully with family
at her side on July 12, 2021 in Vancouver, B.C. at the age of 93.
Predeceased by her husband, Agostinho. Survived by her children,
Manuel (Sara), Maria (Jim), John, Annette (Jim) and Odette,
six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Belmira was the
youngest of six children and was raised by one of her older sisters.
She immigrated to Vancouver, Canada with three of her children
in 1960 to join her husband who had come to Vancouver three
years prior. She devoted her time to raising her children and
loved to spoil her grandchildren, who were the love of her life.
Belmira also had a special place in her heart for love of animals,
domestic and wild (especially raccoons). She will be sadly
missed by her family, friends and neighbours. Her strength
of spirit, sense of humour and dedication to her family members
and friends will be an inspiration to us forever.
Love you Mamae…

Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Our Lady of Fatima Parish

Tribute :I remember my Aunt fondly, the one thing that sticks with me from the last time I saw her was her laugh. She and my mom (her sister) would laugh about old times which made everyone else laugh as well. We know she is now in peace and at home with her husband and the rest of her siblings. We will keep the family in our prayers tomorrow during the funeral, may God Bless you all!
