Gloria Clendinning 70, of Coquitlam died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 30,
2015. Gloria was born to the late Andrew and Anne Severin on November 9, 1944 in
Saint Paul, AB. She graduated from Saint Paul High School in 1962 and received a
business diploma from MacTavish Business College in Edmonton, AB. She married
William Clendinning in 1964, and during her working career she was employed with the
Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and the Bank of Montreal, retiring in 2005.
Gloria is survived by her loving husband William, a daughter Christine Courtenay (Mark)
of Burnaby, BC, and a son William Clendinning (Nicole) of Coquitlam, BC. Gloria is
also survived by her two sisters Louise (Kotowich), Sylvia (Machura), her brother
Richard Severin, and granddaughters Sarah Anne Saunders and Tara Zhan Clendinning.
Gloria was an active member of Saint Clare’s parish as well as the Society of Saint
Vincent de Paul. She loved to travel and enjoyed touring and cruising with her husband
and family. Gloria’s passion was quilting and she thoroughly enjoyed making exquisite
quilts for family, friends and newborn babies in critical care. Gloria lived her life with
integrity and faith. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know
her. Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, October 6, at Olivera Funeral Home, 2657
Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam. Fr. Craig Scott will celebrate a Mass of Christian
Burial at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 7, at Saint Clare of Assisi Parish, 1320 Johnson
Street, Coquitlam. A reception will be held in the church hall following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Society of Saint
Vincent de Paul, All Saints Conference, 1405 Como Lake Avenue, Coquitlam, BC, V3J
5K7.
