Guilherme (Bill), born in Rabo de Peixe, Sao Miguel, Azores, passed away peacefully in Vancouver on September 29, 2019 with his family by his side. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Maria Laudalina, the love of his life; his three sons: Luis, David (Nancy), and Daniel (Maria); his two grandchildren Matthew and Sofia; his brother Hermano (Leonor) and sister Isabel (Jose) Sousa; his brother-in-law Jose Pimentel; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father Francisco, his mother Francisca and his sister Esperanca. He immigrated to Canada in 1956, where he eventually established himself as a prominent portrait photographer proudly serving the Portuguese community. We will miss his jokes and life lessons, but most importantly his many stories. He was a great storyteller. He was the bedrock of his immediate and extended family. He enjoyed making wine and chorizo, but his greatest passion was his craft – photography. He rarely went anywhere without a camera. Prayers will be held on Sunday October 6th, 2019 at 6:00pm at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 1423 East 13th Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. Where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Monday October 7th, 2019. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
