In loving memory of
A dear wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Beloved mother of Marny and John jr.
Margaret was born on August 9, 1937 to William and Lilian Cooper, arrived in Canada form England to live in Burnaby, BC. Margaret loved animals and worked as a veterinarian assistant, later worked at the Scott Paper Mill in New Westminster with her sisters Barbara and Joan.
Margaret Cooper met John Varga in Burnaby. Margaret and John fell in love and were married in 1960. They were the first couple to be married at St. Cyril and Methodius, Slovak, Church in New Westminster. They bought a house in Surrey B.C. and had two children, Marny and Johnny. The family moved to Burnaby in 1970.
Margaret loved to knit. She would make quilts, sweaters and loved knitting little dolls which she gave away. She took a course on paper crafts and won awards for her work.
Margaret also loved camping and spending time outdoors which is why the two of them purchased a summer cabin in Point Roberts, Washington.
In 1990, Margaret and John built their own home in Surrey B.C. Margaret was happy with a cat on her lap a coffee by her side and Knitting. If she could make one child smile a day, it was worthwhile.
Margaret passed away on April 18th, 2026. She is survived and greatly missed by her two children, Marny and John (Kimberley), as well as two grandchildren Bradley and Johnny, her two sisters, Barbara and Joan (David), and nephews, Andrew (Jackie), Bill, (Monica), Brian (Maria), Colin, Derek.

Tribute :Mrs. Varga you were my second mum. When I first met you at the age of 10 years. Your daughter became a sister to me and even 54 years later we keep in touch via my dear friend and sister Marny. I have so many fond memories of growing up in Burnaby. Traveling in your station wagon to Point Roberts with Blackie your cat. You opened a whole other world to me. A kid from the projects. My mum called you friend too. Now you are with John again. Also my mum was waiting up there just 4 days before you. Rest eternal I will always keep you in my prayers. I will always love your daughter Marny. Thank you.
