It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Maria do Ceu Armas Gomes Pimentel at the age of 85 on Friday, May 8, 2020.
Maria do Ceu was born in Fazenda das Lajes Flores Azores Portugal on February 28 1935 to Ana de Jesus and Albino Armas she was the eldest of
4 children (Jose, Sister Fernanda and Luis) Maria do Ceu married Antonio Trigueiro Pimentel on October 26,1955.
Together they had 3 children Maria Antonia (Greg Rideout), Mario (Jodi Pimentel) and Jorge (Kathryn Dula).
She immigrated to Canada in July 1970. She was a full time homemaker. A Mom and wife who did not speak English
when she immigrated to Canada she went to school and was a foster parent to Jeff, Vanessa and James and worked as a housekeeper at various hotels.
She was a seamstress, she loved to knit, crochet and cook Portuguese soups.
She loved her family she leaves behind 5 grandchildren Michael Cabrita, Christine Tossavainen, Alysha Pimentel,
Marissa Pimentel and Kaia Pimentel and 4 great-grandchildren: Jessica Tossavainen, Kaitlyn Tossavainen , Rui Cabrita and Mila Cabrita,
Nieces and Nephews and sisters in law. We would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses, and support staff at Royal Columbian Hospital Hemodialysis unit,
and Normanna Care Home in Burnaby for all the support & care provided to mom over the last few years.
She will be forever missed and forever in our hearts
A family memorial will be held at a later date.
