Kinch (nee: Leslie) Mary Josephine (Mollie)

April 17, 1924 – November 15, 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the quiet passing of our Mother, Mary (Mollie) Kinch at the age of 86 years at Northcrest Care Home in Delta, BC.

Mom was predeceased by her loving husband, Emmett; her children, Francis and Robert; her parents, Mary Catherine and George Leslie; her sister, Elva; and her brothers, Lorne and Alex. She is survived by her brother, Vincent (Saskatoon, SK); her children: Patricia (Allan), Barbara (John), Lawrence (Brenda), Tom (Sandy), Peter (Gena) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mom was born in Cupar, Saskatchewan on April 17, 1924 to George and Mary Catherine Leslie. Following graduation from the Covenant in Rosetown, Sask, Mom attended Secretarial College where she excelled in shorthand and typing, graduating with a Diploma. After college, Mom worked for CN Rail until 1950. In 1946 she met the love of her life – our Dad, Emmett. They married in June 1950, and then moved to BC to start a family. Mom had a few brief, part-time jobs, but her real passion was her family; she loved to have the family around her. Mom will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; her many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. She will be remembered for her loving, easy-going way, her quiet sense of humour, and her thoughtfulness towards everyone she met.

Prayers, Wednesday 24th, 2010 at 6:00 pm; Funeral Mass Thursday Nov. 25th, 2010 at 11:00am, will be held at St. Bernadette Catholic Parish, 6543 132 Street, Surrey BC. Reception to follow at St. Bernadette Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation are appreciated.
