Tribute :Guest Book for Mervin Joseph Airhart Page 1 of 1 November 5- 2007 We were proud to have Mervin in the family-his sense of humor is fondly remembered as is his serious-caring and busy side-as a family we all looked forward to and enjoyed his visits. My heart goes out to you. Brenda (Bill) Isbister(Benson) (Gibbons- AB) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- November 4- 2007 Although I was a very young child in Fort St John when I was around Merv the most-I always remembered him with warmth and as a genuinely kind and caring person- Happily I was able to meet up with him as an adult and confirm that he really was that type of person- My kids still enjoy hearing the stories of when he was an RCMP there and would jokingly handcuff us to the kitchen table legs if we were giving our mom a hard time-He truly was one of a kind- Our heartfelt sympathy and love go out to all his family. Sandra Benson (Edmonton- AB) Contact me -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- November 3- 2007 Just heard the sad news. May the help and good wishes of your family & friends help you at this time. Don & Penny Nicholas Port Coquitlam -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- November 2- 2007 THE FINAL INSPECTION A policeman stood before his God- As must always come to pass- He hoped his boots were shining- Just as brightly as his brass. Step forward- now- policeman- How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To my church have you been true? The policeman squared his shoulders and said- No- Lord- I guess I ain't. 'Cause those of us who carry guns can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays- and at times- my talk was tough- And at times- I've been violent- 'cause the world is awfully rough. But- I never took a penny that wasn't mine to keep- Though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills got just too steep- And I never passed a cry for help though at times- I shook with fear- And at times- God forgive me- I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around- except to calm their fears. If you've a place for me here- Lord- it needn't be so grand. In life- I didn't expect or need too much- so if you don't- I'll understand. There was silence all around the throne- where the saints had often trod- As the policeman waited quietly for the judgement of his God. Step forward now- brave officer- you've born your burdens well. Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets- you've served you're time in Hell. -Author Unknown Jim & Eileen Bentley (Mission- BC) Contact me -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- November 1- 2007 Merv was one well respected and loved man.
