Born December 09, 1944 in S. Miguel, Azores (Portugal)
He passed away suddenly at the age of 76 on December 28, 2020 shortly
after arriving at Burnaby General Hospital. Predeceased by
his father and Mother: Manuel Homem da Silva (1900-1985),
Maria Helena Moreira da Silva (1903-1989), siblings: Maria Helena
Viveiros (2010), Antonio Homem da Silva (1975), Maria de Lourdes
Moniz (1997), Manuel Homem da Silva (2005), Maria Germana
Rego(1981), Denis Homem da Silva (1992), Fernanda Silva
Medeiros (2010), Maria de Fatima Rego (2009), Maria Eduarda
Goncalves (2006). He will forever be missed and held strong in the
Hearts of his loving wife Maria Helena Silva, married 52 years on
November 30, 1968, daughters Selena Diana Silva and Laureena Silva.
He will also be lovingly remembered by his brothers José Homem da Silva
and Fernando Homem da Silva, many nephews, nieces, dear family members
and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am
Tuesday January 12, 2021 at Our Lady of Fatima Parish 1423 E. 13th Avenue,
Vancouver, B.C. Entombment at Ocean View Burial Park, in the Grand Mauseleum.
He Immigrated from Portugal to Canada in 1963. Starting his life in Vancouver,
he worked at CN Rail and at a Saw Mill in Upper Fraser. He then worked for Dominion
construction and then for PCL construction where he retired. His kind gentle
heart and generosity will be felt forever in our memories of him. He fought hard and held strong that each day would get better. We pray that he is finally at peace, and is
surrounded by all the beauty and love around him. Forever in our hearts with much love. In lieu of flowers, please make donation in his name to honour his memory to, The
